Unbrako Pins - Sellok pins, Sel-lok pins, slotted pins, Dowel Pins, Solid Pins - Metric & Inch. A spring pin is an unthreaded fastener that typically has a slot or coil that contracts and expands to accommodate predrilled and prepunched holes. Slotted spring pins are typically one piece, with a slot on one side that stays stationary once it is installed. For small shafts not suitable for traditional shaft keys, slots in the hub hold a dowel or pin inserted through the shaft. In many instances, particularly with couplings, designs cannot accommodate. A spring pin is a hollow, split dowel pin that exerts uniform outward pressure when fitted into a nut or shaft hole. Also called a roll pin, the spring pin withstands side loads and rotational friction, making it ideal for securing shaft and axle connections. Spring pins are also easy to insert and remove.
